The rapid spread of frequency converters, solar inverters, EV chargers and battery storage systems is generating high-frequency Supraharmonics that today&#8217;s standards \u2014 and many engineers&#8217; everyday toolkits \u2014 are simply not equipped to handle. EMC disturbances that were rare a decade ago have become routine, and the industry practice we&#8217;ve long relied on is no longer up to the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To address this gap, BEVING \/ NORBO KraftTeknik is organising a 3-day hands-on training course in Gothenburg this May, in collaboration with NEO Messtechnik. Our CEO, Bernhard Grasel, will be participating as a speaker and instructor alongside Magnus Eriksson from Beving \u2014 bringing deep measurement expertise to this practical course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As technology advances faster and faster in our grid-connected loads, the incidence of various types of grid disturbances that we were previously spared from is increasing. EMC disturbances, for example, have increased significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A contributing factor to these disturbances is that the industry practice we rely on is outdated and no longer relevant for this type of load. The increased proportion of switched loads requires us to adapt our design methods and installation methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of our standards are outdated, they offer no real support for the design of modern grids. In addition, for certain frequency ranges there is a complete lack of relevant standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today\u2019s discussions about \u201dSmart Grid\u201d also place new demands on how we build our grids. And today\u2019s energy prices should have a major impact on how we handle losses when dimensioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So we should build robust grids for the future that minimize the disturbances that the loads can create and\/or are exposed to.
